Why are there so many posts today?

We left Can Tho at 645am heading for Rach Gia, knowing it was not too far (130km). We had noticed on the map function on my phone that there were 3 potential routes- all which had about 20 turns. While we can look at the route in the hotel each morning, we have no way to print out anything and as the odometer on The bike does not work, we are guessing about distances anyway. So we may have seen our last mile marker and had our last big ride. For the first time we did both start this morning is full rain gear, but luckily it cleared up after the first hour.

We wanted to have plenty of time to make sure we did not miss the 1pm ferry to Phu Quoc Island, as otherwise we would be stuck until the next ferry at 8am tomorrow. It's a 2.5 hour journey (170km) so I can type rhe whole way (Piers is asleep) and hopefully post later when we find wifi. Phu Quoc is 48 km long and is located in the gulf of Thailand about 45km west of Ha Tien (Vietnam border town with Cambodia) and 15km south of Cambodia's southern coast. Apparently the island is claimed by Cambodia which is why Vietnam has a huge military base on the island!

While I'm sure there are other times we were ripped off- today's was the most blatant. We had found the area with the various ferry boats (not all take bikes- we are on SUPERDONG) and we obviously looked like good prey. I guy came up to us and asked if we needed a ticket for the ferry. There was no obvious ticket office and we had passed a bunch of little shops/Cafes that had ferry signs on them, so we figured the guy was going to take us to his friend's place to buy the ticket and he would get a kickback from the friend. Anyhow- they did sell us 2 to tickets for us which looked legit (although seemed expensive and I wondered if they might be round trip which we do not need)
