Rise and shine at 6am, all hotels have breakfast buffet with an omelette man. We were on the bike at 7:07am. It is really good to leave early as we never know what we are going to encounter. Strong head winds today and a rough road other than the first bit which was a nice ride through the line forest. We went 175km to Tam Phu on the main road- descending the whole time- 4.5 hours. Then 24 km on a small road up to Cat Tien National Forest. I had made a booking on line but had not received a confirmation but as it is the low season we were not worried. To get into the park you have to take a ferry boat- no bikes or cars. We left the bike (10,000 parking fee) and a guy took us straight across- the river water color is like clay. We saw a sign for the Forest Floor Lodge and started walking the 1300 meters. Piers is a real gentleman and carried to saddle bags across his shoulders and I only had my biackpack and the little bike bad that attaches over the fuel tank in front of the driver with magnets.
