Vientiane, Laos

Arrived in time last night for dinner at the Thank-you restaurant recommended by the hotel. I love the unique beer dispensers they bring to your table with an ice cube center. 3 liters of beerlao is 15,000 kip (8000 kip is $1). Vientiane is the capital of Laos (population 236,000). The French settled the city as a hub of Indochina, (at the end of the 19th century) and elements of their era- from the whiff of fresh baked baguettes or evocative shuttered villas are easy to find.
