First long day driving

Finally arrived at Quy Ngong a beach resort but not one of the famous ones farther south that we plan to get to tomorrow. 8 hours riding with a few stops to stretch and a quick lunch (1 hour total) so 9 hr day. One thing that is so different here is that all hotels (even this one that cost $20) has free wifi. We took a nice swim, then shower then off to find dinner. We will NEVER forget the dinner. I was laughing so hard I had tears down my face for over an hour .... We were in a sea food restaurant and ordered chicken hotspot. The guy said 30 minutes and we said fine because the place was really busy and the waiters and waitresses were literally RUNNING
from tables to the kitchen or bar. It must have been a rule. Eventually they brought out our chicken. It was really a fresh chicken- freshly cut up with the head, feet, all organs. Once the hotspot liquid was hot enough, they dumped in all in. We knew we would not eat any- Piers was covering it with all the vegetables and noodles and then transferring it to our bowls as I'd we were eating it. Almost ever table had a case or 2 of Heineken beer next to it- piers explained to me that the Vietnamese just throw everything on the ground when finished- cans and napkins etc. We are now watching world wide wrestling on tv and will shit off the lights any minute (it is 914pm and we are exhausted).

  1. Wow! Steve & I are driving I see Eliza at her friend's cabin. Beautiful day here! We are imagining the next time you order out you might stick with noodles/vegetables... Do they have tofu?
