New plan

Piers has decided that we should take a train about 700 km south to Hue instead of taking the bike. It was a crazy time to deposit the bike at the train this morning. The train is over night and we have a sleeper with 4 others. Apparently we booked the hard mattress sleeper - we obviously had no idea there was a soft mattress sleeper 750,000 dong which is $36 for a 16 hour trip.

BIG MiSTAKE- my initial post said our trip was about 1100 miles- it was 175km on the bike yesterday from Halong Bay to Hanoi, he train will be about 700km and then another 800km to Saigon.

After they siphoned out the gas they started to tape cardboard all around the bike. The first people who spoke to us said it would take 5 days for the bike to arrive... We now think it will arrive Thur afternoon.
